Satellite dishes and receivers. |
There is more than just SKY television |
|
Satellite broadcasting gives access to a vast array of radio and television programmes from many different cultures and countries. Some programmes are still broadcast in analogue, but for the greatest choice a digital receiver is the best option. Not only is digital the technology of the future, it also gives the greatest viewing / listening choice. |
|
Dish sizes vary from the small 45cm dish required for SKY or Freesat to 1.5m dishes for the more obscure signals from satellites such as Nilesat. There are many websites that list the satellites viewable from the UK, what programmes are broadcast from them and details of any encryption system used. One site is LyngSat |

We also suggest that it is more sensible to buy your equipment from the same person who is arranging for the installation. In that way, in the unlikely event of anything going wrong, it is one ‘phone call and it is not up to you to decide if it is an equipment or an installation problem. For this reason we tend to offer a better deal on supply and install than just installation. |

Remember although it is possible to receive all the ‘conventional television stations’ from a SKY digital satellite receiver or even a Freesat receiver, you would need at least one receiver at each television in your home to give full versatility for different channel watching and recording. Alternatively a good quality TV aerial, in addition to your satellite system, gives access to all terrestrial signals as well as satellite reception from whichever satellite you want. |
